Happy New Year! January 2010
It seems unbelievable that another year has come and gone, and that it has taken that full year to repair the damage to my home caused by the ice storm in December of 2008! Although still "gutterless" the house and garage have new roofs, a new paint job, and a fresh coating of snow... again! (see the before here).
All of these outside improvements inspired me to resume working on the inside. I have stripped 3/4 of one bedroom of 100 years of wallpaper. No easy feat! Between the 5 - 6 layers of wallpaper (bottom 2 1/2 shown at left), and horsehair plaster walls, it was not only slow going... but also tough on the knuckles! I may look like a prize fighter, but the prize is worth it, and I look forward to the redecorating!
This past year was not a great one for my friends, family and clients. Between the dismal economy, home, health, and weather issues, and for some... personal setbacks or challenges (you know who you are:-)... All in all, I'm happy to put last year behind me/us, and hope that we all have a better year in 2010!
2010... not only a new year, but a new decade, full of promise! (?)
