"I spread my wings" a bit as a designer this season! Having almost completed a new website for Premier Optical in Worcester,
they asked if I would also design and create their holiday display-window. I've secretly always wanted to do a window display, so I jumped at the chance.
The catch was that it had to be completed in 2 days! Not a lot of time to come up with a concept, buy (or create) the display items, and complete the window.
Thankfully I was inspired by a vintage mannequin head (a gift from my parents for my antique hat collection). With that, a purchased set of feathered wings, a blue feathered boa, and supplied crystal encrusted diva glasses, an angel and a new design sideline were born!

Gardiner Design created this full color, half page advertisement highlighting the Blackstone River Valley for the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism's 2006/2007 Massachusetts Getaway Guide. The ad also includes some of my photographs.

tech tip
.: ice your cell!
[ it just could save your life ]
|
 |
Cellphones have become part of our daily lives. We use them to contact
friends, family and clients, and they are a a valuable life-line when
we're lost, have car trouble, or just need to reach someone quickly.
But what happens if you are in an emergency situation, a car accident
for example, and are rendered incapable of giving rescue workers or
paramedics the information needed to save your life? Let ICE: an
acronym for "in case of emergency" speak for you! This campaign,
conceived of by Bob Brotchie, a clinical team leader for a UK ambulance
service, encourages people to enter emergency contact numbers
into their cell phone's contact list under the heading ICE
[example: ICE Mother]. This contact information will allow paramedics and
police officers the ability to quickly contact your designated next-of-kin/relative
in the event of emergency. It takes just seconds, and it could save your life!
I encourage you to ICE your CELL today [and be sure to review any medical
conditions/drug allergies, etc. with your ICE contacts]! Have a safe and happy holiday season!
